Recreation Therapy Practicum and Internship Placements
Kiwanis Village is proud to host Therapeutic Recreation diploma and degree students for their practicum and internship placements. We are able to offer placements and learning opportunities in many areas throughout our diverse site. We provide students with a positive learning environment that allows them to grow their professional skills through practical experience.

Registered Nurse & Licensed Practical Nurse – Casual Positions that grow

Culinary Services – Casual positions that grow
Kiwanis Village prepares approximately 500 meals every day and supports Meals on Wheels Nanaimo. Our commitment is to source high quality ingredients, serve professionally prepared meals that nourish both body and soul. With a 60 year history we have much to share and still some to learn.
Housekeeping, laundry Casual positions that grow
The minute you walk into Kiwanis you can see the difference our housekeepers make in the lives of older adults every day. Clean, bright, open space, well-appointed environments and a sense of pride greets you at the door and throughout the building. Five different yet connected buildings, four floors for complex care and space to support community events all require a detail oriented eye and great customer service.
Pendant Alert Liaison (PAL)
Each older adult living at Kiwanis Village can request emergency help by pressing their pendant. As the pendant responder you meet the needs of folks through a timely emergency response when called. This role is integral to the safety of our clients. It is a dual role shared with housekeeping and laundry.
